An alumna of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy (1984–1997), Varuni is a cornerstone of the Villogen Group's administrative excellence.

Professional Evolution

Varuni began her career immediately following her Advanced Levels, building a diverse background in administration, finance, and secretarial functions across leading institutions:

Union Assurance Company Ltd: Assistant to the HR and Administration Department.
Pharma Merchant Company (1999): Secretary to the Credit Department.
Mercantile Leasing (2002): Finance Department Executive, later promoted to Senior Executive.

Leadership at Villogen

Since the group's inception, Varuni has been a driving force and a source of strength to the Chairman. Her role has evolved to meet the complexities of a growing conglomerate, where she now manages high-stakes internal operations.

Current Portfolio:

  • Overseeing the entire Administrative framework of the group.
  • Directing Human Resource strategies to foster a dedicated workforce.
  • Managing Risk Management functions to ensure organizational stability.

Personal Life & Legacy

In 2003, she married the founder chairman, Mr. Daminda Bandara Udurawana. While steering the group's corporate functions, she remains a devoted mother to their three growing boys. Her ability to balance the rigorous demands of executive leadership with her family life has been instrumental to the group’s enduring success and shared values.
