Welcome to the Villogen story. Founded in 2010 by Mr. Daminda Bandara Udurawana at age 30, Villogen started by importing and distributing pharmaceutical products in the central region. Through efficient management, it has grown into a business conglomerate.
Villogen is the holding company for six subsidiaries: Villogen Pharma Private Limited, A and H Associates, Villogen Property Investment and Micro Credit, British Villo, Villo Auto Cars, and British Vila Holding. In just over a decade, Villogen Pharma now distributes over 30 pharmaceutical and ophthalmic products as sole distributor in Sri Lanka, recognized and trusted by professors, consultants, and medical officers nationwide.

Our Beginning
Villogen pharma, Private Limited, came into being on first march 2010 when the Group founder chairman, Mr. Daminda Bandara Udurawana, took a strategic decision to vest the group's core business in pharmaceuticals in a new company. The company started with a team of just three, Mr. Udurawana as the Chairman and Managing Director, Mrs. Varuni Udurawana Director, Mr. NTB Udurawana, non-Executive Director, and one employee having its office in a small, rented room in candy town, and had just one motor vehicle and a motorcycle for its operations.
From Humble Beginnings
Started with 3 people, 1 room, and a vision to transform pharmaceutical distribution in Sri Lanka.
Our Growth
The beginning, though modest, was by no means insignificant, and was able to achieve a turnover of 30 million rupees during the first year of operations. From this small beginning, Villogen has now grown to be a strong player in the market of pharmaceuticals, not, of course, at the level of the big corporates, but quite willing and able to rub shoulders with the best of them in a healthy and competitive spirit. In the short span of five years, we now record an annual turnover of over 100 million rupees. Our team has grown from just three to around 40, moving to our own fully air conditioned office and stores premises where we hold stocks worth over rupees 100 million. 2010.
Foundation
Villogen Pharma Private Limited established on March 1st with just 3 people, operating from a small rented room in Kandy with one vehicle and a motorcycle.
2012.
Diversification
Expanded into motor vehicle trading and formed A and H Holdings Micro Credit Company Limited to help low and middle-income families and entrepreneurs.
2016.
Major Growth
Recorded 130 million rupees turnover for nine months ending November. Expanded into real estate with Villogen Property Development Private Limited.

Our Strengths, Goals & Future Plans
We are endowed with an astute and experienced key management team and an energetic, enthusiastic support staff, motivated to be efficient in their respective roles. Our operations run at optimum efficiency thanks to our own four floor self contained premises. This fully air-conditioned facility houses both offices and stores, providing a conducive environment for staff and meeting all standard requirements of the Food and Drugs Regulatory Authority of Sri Lanka with 24-hour climate control.
Our distribution reach is powered by a fleet of 30 vehicles, covering all areas in the Central Province and major towns across the Northern and Eastern provinces. We take pride in our team, whose welfare and income levels are now on par with the highest in the industry.
Manufacturing Expansion
The Chairman's vision is to expand beyond distribution into high-quality pharmaceutical manufacturing. Preliminary work has already initiated for the commissioning of two specialized plants:
- Plant 1: Dedicated Pharmaceutical Drug Manufacturing
- Plant 2: Specialized Unit for Balms and Ointments
*Preliminary work and commissioning plans initiated to strengthen local medicine production.
